Spotted - 1937 White Yellowstone National Park Bus

The White Model 706 open top tour bus, an essential part of the National Park experience in Yellowstone. Designed specifically for use within the National Parks, these busses carried passengers around the park from the mid-1930's to the 1960's. Upgraded versions of this design still roam Yellowstone as well as Glacier National Parks. This particular vehicle was spotted last week at the Paine Field Aviation Day event.

Spotted - Bristol Double Decker Bus

The red double decker buses are such a London icon. I rarely see these old gems in the U.S. I didn't know I had one close by. Here are of couple of shots of the 1954 Bristol that I captured last Fall at the Le May museum warehouse:

GM Futurliner Scale Model at the Museum of Bus Transportation

The Museum of Bus Transportation which is housed within the grounds of the AACA museum has a nice scale model of the GM Futurliner. These behemoths were an integral part of GM's Parade of Progress. An annual traveling exhibit "highlighting technological progress". Very few of these interesting vehicles remain. You can learn more about the restoration of one of these interesting vehicles at the Futurliner Restoration Project's website. If you take a close look you will notice the smaller version on the lower right as well as a model of the first generation version. You can also take a look at the other photos I captured during my visit to the museum on my previous post.

GMC RTS RV Conversion

I love the modern lines of the GMC RTS buses. It's lines are very well in tone with the rest of the GM line for the late 70's early 80's. It certainly makes for a great looking RV. I came across this one while walking around the pits area at the Pacific Northwest SOVREN Vintage Races.

Spotted - Scania Irizar PB

I walked past this beautiful Scania Irizar PB on my way to and from work while in Madrid. What a great a looking bus!
