The most unusual vehicle present at the 2011 VW Cruise-in at the Triple X Rootbeer Drive-in was this Type 147. Better known in VW circles as the Fridolin. This highly unusual vehicle was produced for postal service in Germany and Switzerland in the early 1960's. According to the VW Fridolin IG site, corner rear windows suggest this one may be one of the vehicles ordered by the Swiss postal service. This one seems to be crying for a total restoration but it was cool to see nevertheless. You can find more photos from this event in my previous post.
02/08/12 UPDATE - I had a chance to photograph another Fridolin in buch better shape at the Volkyland museum in Puerto Rico.
