Engines - Citroen GS Birotor

We are all familiar with the well know Mazda Wankel engines but did you know about the Citroen GS (GZ) Birotor? Between 1971 - 75 Citroen built 873 GS equipped with a twin rotor Wankel engine. The setup produced 107 hp and pushed the little GS to 108 mph. Rotary technology was in its infancy back then and in the end high fuel consumption, high oil consumption and low reliability killed it. It was a brave effort on the part of Citroen to give it try. A C+ for Citroen for putting it into limited production... :-)
